So kids went off to school. Rest of them went to work in London (no lockdown yet....social distancing in London!!!) my hubby and I had the day off. He wanted to go out for lunch (not a chance in hell). How do I get around this one.....I didn't want to not do anything on our day off but I wasn't going anywhere I would have to interact with others.
"Shall we take the dogs to the beach" I suggested....very big beach, lots of space and clean air. He was happy so off we went. We had a beautiful walk on the beach, not a single other soul on the beach.....we picked up some hand sanitizer from the beach shop (what happened to the old stick of rock) whilst maintaining our distance at all times. It was like a ghost town all of the arcades were open but empty, all of the shops were open but no customers (other than those that had loo roll) and then he wanted lunch.......no fish and chip shops open.....I will not go into a pub, not a chane.
We went to a pub up the road and was so relieved to see tables outside, the sun was shining and I said it would be lovely to sit outside in the sun. Was also very relieved to see that the pub only allowed assistance dogs.....hubby went in to order drinks and get menus, I disinfected the table while he was gone. Very large glass of sauvignon was delivered, we looked at the menus, when he went to order I got my anti-bacterial wipes out and cleaned the rim of the glass (makes me feel better anyway). We had a lovely lunch the food was delicious We were "social distancing" for the first time. I was so relieved and a little bit ashamed at the same time.......
