So Boris returned to lead the government today after his recovery from Covid-19; he mentioned how the UK had been successful against the virus and how other countries around the world where looking at us...not quite sure that is correct, right up there with Spain, Italy and France with regards to the loss of life.
I am happy staying in lockdown, if it keeps my family safe I will do it for as long as necessary. My kids are doing school work, my hubby and I are working successfully from home and it has shown us all a new way of life. I know my children, especially my oldest is suffering mentally due to the continued restrictions on their lives but they are safe. To me that is all that matters. To my eldest though, she is more worried about the impact of mental health during this pandemic, I get that, I completely understand and will do anything in my power to make it easier for her to get through this.
Over 20,000 lives lost although they are flattening the curve!! If we carry on at an average of 500 deaths per day for the next two to three weeks (which is what is happening in Italy and Spain) we will have approximately 30,000 dead. That is a lot of people, a lot of families that will never be the same again.
I try not to focus on this too much otherwise I would not get through the day. I don't want to ignore it though as it would be an injustice to those that have passed, I will pray for them and pray for their families, and pray that the front line workers stay safe (especially my Asda delivery guy this week, he was very hot -- you have to have a little bit of light!).
