Today was hot! We painted the garden fence, sunbathed in the garden, listened to music, had a barbecue, just us - safe as we can be, whilst many went to the park and sunbathed, cycled, ran, walked, played with the kids, very little space for safe social distancing, they just are not getting it. Stupid invincibles. My daughter is also telling me "my friend is going to my other friends for a sleepover!" Really and one of the mums is a key worker (not NHS but still......). What will it take, almost 5000 lives, young, old, nurses, midwives, bus drivers - come on guys.....a mother of three young children, come on...................
The only plus of the day for me was HM Queen speech, very poignant, poised and pitch perfect. Got a bit emotional. Rallying the country to stay strong and safe for each other. We will see our families again (will I will cos I am staying in)......we will meet again, maybe not some of you, cos I see you going from house to house whilst some of you are also still going to work. Shame on you!
Boris has also been admitted to hospital, as have so many others, another who possibly thought he was invincible and wasn't taking the right precautions. Very sad as he was being a strong leader and I hope he recovers very quickly (voted for JC though). Scottish Chief Medical Officer also travelled to her country home for the past two weekends, shame on you! Another invincible.
I go to bed with a heavy heart for all those that have lost their lives, for those who lost their lives trying to keep us alive. #stayhomesavelives
